UX/ UI Design

Digital and Print Design
My background
I have a bachelor’s degree in Communications from De La Salle University in Manila. After graduating, I started my professional career as a photographer. For more than 10 years, I photographed different personalities, products, and events.
In 2015, I had an opportunity to branch out into design. I worked at a boutique design studio, creating websites and marketing collateral for digital and print.
How I got started in UX Design
Through the course of working on different projects, I realised that my strength was in connecting with clients and understanding their pain points and their goals.
I was not much into fancy graphic art, but more into designing for ease of use. That was reflected in the way I designed slides and brochures.
I then discovered that there was a discipline dedicated to this. In 2019, I took my first UX course at Interaction Design Foundation, and haven’t stopped learning since.
My why
Life nowadays can get complicated. There are increasingly a number of ways we buy, sell, acquire information, and present ourselves. A lot of anxiety can go with all those things.
I strive to be a good UX designer to reduce anxiety in accomplishing tasks. I want to be able to design products that make users feel empowered and accomplished - the same way I felt when I used a well-designed mobile banking app for the first time.
